By: Zukku

The Geekly Grind was fortunate enough to be invited to check out some awesome M•A•C Cosmetics. We are so thankful for the opportunity for the "Geekly Glow Up." Read more below!

Some M•A•C treats from TwitchCon! Check out the post for the 'What's, What!?'

With M•A•C being one of the first makeup brands activating atTwitchCon this year, of course we had to head on over for a geekly review. As acompany. M•A•C has embodied the idea of pop-culture, and they have a strongpassion of finding creative and authentic ways to integrate M•A•C in allaspects of fashion and culture. For TwitchCon, they created an amazing spacefor all gamers, not just females, to connect with artists and find the joy inmakeup. From having makeup touches, giveaways, streaming stations, and evenclasses, we were lucky to be able to participate in their station this year.

Onsite, wewere able to participate in a streamer ready makeup tutorial- which was featuredon our Twitch channel! During the stream, I had the pleasure to be serviced byCathy Soo, a M•A•C makeup artist who has been with M•A•C for over 10 years andis one of their educators, but also an amazing gamer! With her years of experiencein makeup and education, (and as a Mercy main) I knew my skin was in the righthands!

During my hour long “Geekly Glow-Up,” she carefully explained the “how-to” of becoming stream ready. As she masterfully prepped my skin, I was blown-away by the feeling of these cosmetics. I do not typically enjoy wearing makeup because one, it always feels so heavy, and two, I have such a weird skin-tone that nothing ever seems to match right! With M•A•C’s new foundation stick, I was really surprised to find that their claim of “the perfect foundation does exist,” really exists! As Cathy continued to layer on foundation, blush, bronzer, eye shadow, and more, I was delighted by the simple fact that my face still felt so light. As I mentioned, one of the main reasons I shy away from makeup daily is that grimy feeling that makes my pores feel so full and dirty. However, even at the end of the day, after wearing the full face of make up for over eight hours, my skin felt like it could still breathe.

The convention and beyond!

M•A•C was kind enough to give us a treat bag to test out a handful of their products. Over the last week, I have been able to test out the products and I am pleased to say that I am loving it! The lipstick colors are vibrant. When I complete my look with the 'Fix +' prep and primer, I can head out the door and not worry about touch ups. For someone who has extremely sensitive skin, my skin is also looking as bright as ever. There was always a worry for me when wearing makeup that my skin would eventually turn into a pit of acne, but with these amazing products, it has not been the case. During our stream with Cathy Soo, she shared that one of the most important tips to makeup is not necessarily the type of makeup, but always making sure you remove it appropriately. With that, I have also been using the M•A•C makeup remover wipes every night!

The Goodies that I promised from the start! [Left to Right: Cheeky Bronze (Mineralize Skinnfinish), Fix + Matte, Fix + , Brush #1595, Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder, Strobe Cream, Melba (Matte Powder Blush)]

We are so thankful for the opportunity to review some of the M•A•C lineup and hope that you guys will also check them out! If you have any questions, makeup tips, or even some self-care tips that you guys would like to share, make sure you keep your eyes out for the “Geekly Glow-Up: Combining Geek with Chic,” twitch stream that we will be hosting in the near future! Until then, stay beautiful! (Which you are; with or without makeup!)
