Sorry Were Closed [Review]

"Sorry Were Closed" is a narrative-driven game that incorporates elements of classic survival horror franchises such as Resident Evil and Silent Hill. It features a compelling cast of characters, immersive atmosphere and extensive well-crafted world-building, and an engaging story centered on themes of angels, demons, and other supernatural entities. The game provides a noteworthy survival horror experience, blending Silent Hill-inspired exploration with stylish first-person shooting. Also this game offers a dramatic love , a distinctive art style and a fantastic soundtrack. I also applaud this game for its down to earth writing emulating how peoples personalities actually are. Sorry Were Closed is perhaps not as overtly frightening as some of its influences, its more weird and unsettling elements suggest that intense horror may not have been the primary objective.

The game's music and presentation are phenomenal, and its overall aesthetic is unique and stands out within the gaming industry. The narrative immediately captivates, with a structure and mystery that evoke the "Persona" series. With approximately 8 ½   hours of gameplay, the game offers value for its price of 24.99. In addition, it provides an enjoyable horror adventure with a captivating story. The narrative choices have meaningful consequences, encouraging multiple playthroughs to observe different conversational outcomes.

The gameplay is well-executed, utilizing familiar elements of low-poly horror Tank Controls while incorporating innovative and tense mechanics. Fixed and claustrophobic camera angles create a sense of uncertainty. The combat is distinct, employing first-person shooting within the context of fixed camera perspectives. The player must target specific "weak points" on enemies in rapid succession, which are only visible and accessible when the enemy is in close proximity. This design choice enhances the challenge and tension. Successfully executing precise shots on weak points leads to a powerful "Heartbreaker" super-move, providing a deeply satisfying experience.

The game features four distinct endings, one of which necessitates a separate playthrough. Post-game content includes "Time Trials"  which would interest speedrunners, offering an avenue for competitive replayability. Sorry We're Closed is a true gem in the gaming community and significantly enhances a genre that many companies are currently attempting to emulate. The game's narrative and immersive experience are exceptional and, in my opinion, award-worthy. Also I hate Darrell.
