Overlord II - Episode 12

Ainz... Momon? Demiurge? What's going on?!

Alright, Princess Renner is officially the creepiest thing about Overlord and that’s really saying something. I’m getting ahead of myself though. The fight between Ainz in disguise and Demiurge in disguise was a bit anticlimactic. On top of that Evileye turned into a puddle of goo over Momon. Apparently, she’s been around for hundreds of years and this was the first time her heart has beat in ages? Or has beat rapidly? Although it wasn’t my favorite turn of events it was funny at times. When Evileye was gushing over Momon picking up a fair maiden like herself, only to end up feeling like a sack of potatoes with the way he was carrying her. Also, it was obvious that she wasn’t paranoid about Momon and Nabe’s intentions, but that’s how Ainz took it. Even Nabe could clearly see that it wasn’t suspicion that Evileye was feeling. I guess Albetto might want to watch out…

Evileye Thirsty While Her Friends Lay Dead, That's Cold

The only confusing part of that scene was Evileye planned on having Gagaran and Tia revived. It seems like once the flame wall went up, those plans went out the window. I guess they’re both dead? They definitely could have taken a couple of seconds to explain that better. Meanwhile, on the other side of town, another big villain fell. If you thought the 8 Fingers Zero would be an exception to the rule of powerful kingdom villains that could give Sebas a run for his money, then you like me would be mistaken. Just as it seemed Brain might have met his match, Sebas stepped up. He received Zero’s strongest attack, didn’t even flinch then killed him with one kick. On another note, it seems Climb needs as much help as always, which could spell trouble later on.

Princess Renner, The Creepiest Thing "Alive"

The kingdom has quickly moved on from the 8 Fingers fiasco. Now they’re going to penetrate the illusionary flame wall and fight what’s on the other side. There seem to be low-level demons that have taken people captive. Anyone who’s anyone is going through. At first, this seems like the standard. The Princess even pushes for Climb to go, kind of strange considering how much she… Adores him? Turns out that’s part of her plan, once he is returned likely weak and recovering she will take him into her “care.” That smirk at the end was horrifying, I have a feeling she is the evilest thing in Overlord right now. My biggest question though is, what the heck is going on? Seriously what is Demiurge doing? Even Ainz doesn’t seem to know the full plan. This episode was mostly a lot of setup, so I’m interested to see what the season finale has in store!
