Overlord II - Episode 10

Super Exciting? No. Interesting? Very.
Not the most exciting episode to date, but I really enjoyed how direct and to the point it was from the get-go. The episode wastes no time presenting the fate of Sebas and Tsuare. As usual, Ainz puts on a great poker face when confronting Sebas. Ainz was direct, quick to point about his mistakes and sounded downright mad, the handkerchief was also a nice touch. Things looked bleak for Sebas and Tsuare, especially the later. When the order was given to kill her, other than the slight hesitation from Sebas, I thought Tsuare was a goner. Turns out Ainz is always a few moves ahead of everyone, he was simply testing his loyal subject. The surprise twist was interesting, it seems Tsuare is the sister of the young adventurer Ainz came across.
Keep Renner Away From Everyone, Especially Climb
I don’t know what Princess Renner is, but she creeps me out, a lot. She’s even more unsettling than Solution. I think it’s because she is much better at hiding… Whatever she is. It seems she will do anything to keep Climb, even chain him up. The way she speaks about him is also unsettling. I actually feel bad for him, seeing as he has no idea what’s coming. What surprises me is through all this, she or it, is still calculating and strategic like a noble. Also, why does she even care about 8 Fingers anyways?
Predictable Ending, But The Set Up Is Great
The episode wrapped up in a way that was a bit predictable. I knew as soon as they made one last “shopping trip,” and left Taure by herself that danger would ensue. This looks to lead Sebas on a courageous path to bring her back. Meanwhile, it seems to bring doubt to Ainz, even by the overly obsessed Albedo. Ainz says that rescuing Tsuare is because he gave his word and his name, but I’m starting to think even his loyal subjects are losing faith in that excuse. All that said, I like his moral code, it’s respectable, too bad he has to hide it from Nazarick most of the time. I’m excited to see Demiurge and others in action, this episode was a bit slow, but the potential has certainly been built up!
