Caravan Sandwitch [Review]
In Caravan Sandwitch our protagonist Sauge is looking for her sister, who went missing on a planet called Cigalo, a planet that humans left behind after exploiting it and draining it of almost all of its resources. There are several surviving groups: the robots left behind, the humans who stayed, and the native Reinetos people. Sauge is tasked with joining the community and solving their problems, along with uncovering the truth behind her sister's disappearance.
I found the game’s storyline to be pretty good although the game's writing and dialogue were subpar. For instance, the characters were unremarkable and really did not have any unique personalities; everyone felt dry and like characters I've seen in many other games and stories as of late. Although, the gameplay never felt like it was being held back.
Caravan Sandwitch has an amazing soundtrack keeping the game relaxed and calm throughout out the entire experience. The art and atmosphere are pleasant, and the plot and story are appealing, Caravan Sandwitch Platforming is absolutely the biggest downside to this game, and unfortunately, this is 80% of the game. Like in classic games, the camera can get in the way and takes a lot of adjustment. Also, players will fall a lot, but it does help that there isn't any fall damage or game-overs. Caravan Sandwitch is a fun game to play and explore. The lighthearted atmosphere and the interesting world make for a fantastic exploration experience. Since this is a casual game with no high stakes, the mileage will vary from player to player.
