Bem Feito [Review]

Chore List:

Sweep the floor.

Water the plants.

Go for a swim with your friend…

Better do your chores! You can find them listed on the fridge in your house. Bem Feito is a very interesting game published by QUByte Interactive and Developed by oiCabie. In this game, you follow the protagonist Reginaldo as he does his menial chores around his property and hangs out with his interesting group of friends that ranges from a big buff cake person to a little kitty cat who happens to be my favorite.

The game has a very unique presentation. You have a computer screen with a few files and a ROM for a system, that looks to be a Gameboy. But instead, it’s a completely different device that has one game on it, Bem Feito. There are other files on the desktop you can take a look at, but most of them are locked behind passwords that you can get by playing the rom hack. The story is small but interesting because as you play you learn that the game and its developer have a bit of a mystery behind it that you can find out for yourself.

Bem Feito, the game within a game, has a fantastic art style and presentation. It feels like it’s trying to copy the style of an old Gameboy game but has mixed in elements of 3D animation and character screens for their introductions. Once you start the game players must do the chores located on the fridge as it has your to-do list. The game has some decision making and players have the option to do them or to avoid specific ones.......It changes a bit of the story but you might not be able to find the passwords for the files if you don’t do your chores or some "special" chores.....

The game is incredibly short, so if you want you can easily play the game once more to see what the other decisions would do. That’s what I did at least, I wanted to see more of Reginaldo’s friends! But the game being short isn’t a bad thing. It doesn’t have to be any longer otherwise it could have overstayed its welcome.

I enjoyed this game a lot. From the presentation to the art style. It feels like a lot of heart went into this game even though it is so short and small. Like how there’s a file with PDFs of the game’s manual. You can read the instructions and character bios like it was an old game that came with a game manual in the box. And those don’t need any passwords so you can read them from the beginning of the game. Something about this game also struck a chord with me. It reminds me of old internet mysteries like creepypastas. Something that I just haven’t seen in a long time and certainly not from a video game. Bem Feito is a really enjoyable game with some replay value that can be played and enjoyed in one sitting and deserves attention and a score of 10/10.
