Voodoo Vince is Back?!
By: AlanVBack in 2003 Microsoft was successfully carving a place for itself in the gaming market. While most people remember titles such as Halo, Project Gotham Racing and Fable, other quirkier titles hit the original Xbox as well. One of those titles is Voodoo Vince. Microsoft has announced that it will be releasing a remaster of this cult hit, which will be released in early 2017 for Xbox One and Windows 10.Voodoo Vince is a 3d puzzle platformer with a charming art style. It also had a unique hook, giving Vince voodoo powers that players could use to harm enemies. It also kept things fresh by having a variety of game types show up throughout the game’s levels. While not groundbreaking it was still considered a solid title that was quickly lost in the shuffle of the Xbox library. The game’s original creator, Clayton Kauzlaric, stated some of the upgrades Voodoo Vince will be receiving, “What’s in the new version? It’s wide screen now, of course, in glorious 1080p and running at 60fps. The rendering engine is being rewritten from the ground up with lots of crisp new textures and rendering effects.”However, fans should know that while the game is receiving a massive facelift, the mechanics will not be changed. “The gameplay is mostly untouched, though. That was important to me. Vince moves, animates, and controls exactly like he did in 2003,” said Kauzlaric.Giving the green light to passion projects like this is what will continue to earn Microsoft respect from the gaming community. This will help them in building momentum to the crucial launch of Project Scorpio later in 2017.
