Tsure x Dere Children (Episode 1-2 Review)

By: ArliWhile this summer season of anime is jam-packed with heart-racing action,  Tsure x Dure Children (also known as Tsuredere Children) by Studio Gokumi is an adaption of Wakabayashi Toshiya’s Tsurezene Children which offers a slice of life look at adolescent romance. You better get ready for your heart to go doki doki.Tsundere ChildrenCrunchyroll describes the anime as:To those of you out there who never could say "I love you"— This story is about ordinary highschoolers and how love makes them fired up, shaken, laugh, cry, and hurt. Whether things go well or not, this story of adolescence and romance will show you how they spend their precious youth. Every character is the main character here, and you're sure to find one you can sympathize with. Tsuredure Children's TV anime begins airing Summer 2017! Let's get our hearts racing together! The manga covers the high school students in 4-koma format, so, it only made sense for the anime to follow as a series of short stories. We start off Tsure x Dere with the first episode titled Confession, which begins with our first characters, Takase and Kanda, who set the fast-pace of the show. Takase was called over by his crush Kanda, who is too nervous to confess her love of Tasake. When Takase tries to leave, Kanda begs him to come back tomorrow so she can confess she likes him then. The look on Takase’s face is priceless.Tsundere ChildrenAnd within less than four minutes of the show, the feels train is ready to start taking passengers! If I had to choose my favorite couple I am rooting for from Confession (and trust me: I am rooting for all of them) it has to be Kaji, the badass athletic girl, and Akagi, the Student Council President. I mean, it’s not in every anime you get this scene:Tsundere ChildrenI’ll just leave the scene to your imagination unless you decided to watch Tsure x Dere Children of course! ;) In episode two, titled Spring, there is some continuation of the storylines set from Confession, as well as an introduction of even more characters. I am thoroughly surprised at how much development occurs in the 13-minute anime. By the end of Spring, I was chomping at the bit for more. Although I am slightly worried some story lines might get lost because of the sheer amount of characters in this anime, I have faith Studio Gokumi will keep Tsure x Dere Children at an enjoyable pace.Tsundere ChildrenIt’s not a surprise Funimation decided to license Tsure x Dere Children. There’s a perfect balance of comedy and romance in this beautifully rendered slice of life anime. I’m very excited for the love (and possibly heartbreak) in the upcoming episodes of Tsure x Dere Children and am looking forward to how the season progresses. If you’re looking for a breath of fresh air in a sea of action anime this summer, give Tsure x Dere Children a try. If this anime doesn’t put a smile on your face, I don’t know what will. Who’s your favorite character so far? Let me know in the comment section below![yasr_multiset setid=3]
