Tomb Raider remastered collection Mini [Review]

The Tomb Raider remastered collection is a Masterpiece. Aspyr gave Laras classic adventures a wonderful and much-needed glow-up. The graphics and controls for the Tomb Raider remastered collection have been completely redone to match a more modern visual aesthetic and control scheme. I personally hated the tank controls back in the day and made sure to change the controls to the modern control scheme. It was nice to take a trip down memory lane and with the touch of a button see the old PS1 era graphics the game originally had. Similar to the master chief Collection players are able to just tap a button on the controller and the controls will stitch to the original graphics of the game. I spent a lot of time changing the graphics over and over in each area I went to so I could see the differences. Players not wanting the new experience can change their controls back to the tank controls in the options menu.

A nice touch is the menus for the game as they look like an old PS1 screen, it's the ugliest pretty thing I've ever seen. Unfortunately for this review I only beat the second Tomb Raider, I have learned during this playthrough that I am awful at the older Tomb Raider games in the series and was very good at being dead. I enjoyed my time with the game. Nostalgia aside. This is a well-polished remastered that accomplished everything it set out to do. If you played the original Tomb Raider series and loved it back in the day then this game is absolutely for you. If you played it back in the day and were as awful at it as me but would like to redeem yourself I highly recommend this game. Altho with this being said this game still feels like an older game so new gamers that don't have experience with Tomb Rader outside of the Square Enix games may not like this title so tread lightly. The Tomb Raider remastered collection is available for all current platforms for 29.99

I absolutely adored this game. The new graphics and controls scheme made this experience a lot better than it used to be. The level of difficulty matches the pain I felt as a child and it's nice to know they didn't go in and dumb the game down at all. This is a good call back the past and I can't wait to see what they do with Laura in the future.
