The Pull! [4.23.25]
It is my favorite day of the week! New Comic Book Day is here once again! Tons of great issues from all over the comic space let’s get into it!
Let’s start with Dark Horse Comics this week! Arcana Royale is a new #1 debuting, following our protagonist, Hudson Tremaine who has made a name for herself gambling around Vegas. She now enters the underground gambling scene, but she finds herself out of her element as she is the only mortal in his tournament and the fate of humanity falls upon her!
Let’s stay with the arcana theme, with Boom! Studios’ Minor Arcana #6, if you haven’t been reading Minor Arcana you have been missing out, Jeff Lemire really is painting us a power story, in both his writing and art.
From Oni Press this week, Out of Alcatraz #2! I enjoy reading new takes and adaptations of true events, the first issue was a really good telling of the events that happened in the 1962 escape from Alcatraz, now we start getting into the filling of the gaps with the imagination from writer Christopher Cantwell!
From Image Comics this week, The Power Fantasy #8, Jeremy actually did a whole article on this issue as a preview earlier this week. It is worth the read!
After several delays Lilith #3, from Vault Comics is coming out this week! A beautiful and gory love story between Lilith an eternal being who loves to kill and Penelope a very shy human book shop keeper. This issue a new player enters the story as they try and kill Lilith!
DC has tons of great comics coming out this week, but I think myself and most are ready to get our hands on Batman #159, the second comic in the Hush 2 storyline! Issue #158, left us wanting more and hopefully it delivers!
Our last comic of the day is from Marvel, it is always sad to see an ongoing get canceled, especially when the last issue of this run is actually issue #300 for the series! X-Force #10 comes out this week, being exactly that, telling us a change is going to happen with a decision that will change it up going forward for these characters!
That is, it for The Pull! this week! As always, I hope one or more of these comics are up your interest and if not let us know in the comments!
