We all know what time it is! NEW COMIC BOOK DAY! Best day of the week! Let’s get right into it!
Starting it off this week is Marvel with The Amazing Spider-Man #1, now this isn’t a brand-new run or reset, it’s more of a jumping on point for readers who felt it was overwhelming to jump in on the series. With writer Joe Kelly taking over the helm will this be a turning point that everyone has been waiting for in the series? I hope so, mainline Spidey really needs a win.
From DC this week, I felt like picking up a new #1 in Fire & Ice: When Hell Freezes Over #1! I honestly don’t know much about them other than their appearances in Justice League comics over the years. After Absolute Power was finished, we found out they switched powers, and this series is them dealing with the consequences of the switch and their shortsightedness.
Another New #1 from Image Comics is Golden Rage: Mother Knows Best #1. Is a new story based on the original miniseries by the same name. Basically, older ladies are put on an island because society deems them useless, sometimes they become friends and live life together other times murder happens!
From Dark Horse Comics this week, Vatican City #1! I have been waiting for this comic to come out, Vatican City is the last remaining bastion of human life in a world filled with Vampires! I just enjoy these types of stories so I am hoping it lands well.
Lastly this week is Oni Press with Adventure Time #1! I had brought up this comic back when it was up for FOC. This series contains brand new adventures in the Adventure Time Universe, with Finn and Jake saving the Computer Princess from the Ice King and taking her back to her kingdom setting off a chain of events!
I noticed now that all these comics are new #1s. Did not plan that but hey great jumping on points! Till next week have a great New Comic Book Day!
