The Geekly Grind @ PAX West 2018: Coverage Schedule

By: Mithrandiel, TheJewphin & RaeThis weekend is bound to be a crazy one: the convention-stars have aligned to bring us a pair of content-packed shows that is sure to run our team ragged over the next week.In an effort to prepare our readers for the weekend, here's our (tentative) schedule and breakdown of major coverage for PAX West. We will also have an article laying out major coverage plans for CRX in a separate piece.

Thursday, August 30th

Razer Demo/Spotlight: We'll be kicking things off a bit early with a look at some new Razer peripherals on Thursday afternoon.

Friday, August 31st

Merge Games: We'll be taking a look at some of Merge Games latest titles, including their involvement with the recent mega-hit Dead Cells. There's a good chance we'll be seeing some totally new stuff as well, so stay tuned!Devil May Cry 5 Panel: Showcasing gameplay, developer insights and more, Devil May Cry 5 is sure to get our attention with its stylish presence at PAX West.An Afternoon With Patrick Rothfuss: Here's what won't be discussed: when book 3 is coming out. Here's what will be discussed: literally anything else.Ashes of Creation Interview: Mithrandiel will sit down with Jeffrey Bard, lead game designer at Intrepid Studios, to discuss the latest news surrounding the massively successful Kickstarter-backed MMO, Ashes of Creation. If you missed our interview last year, check it out here!Devolver Digital Showcase: TheJewphin will be getting treated to everything that Devolver has to offer this year at PAX - and will be sure to share it out with the all of you.Also on the agenda: Spotlights on Soundfall, Shift Quantum, Another Indie studios, Ska Studios, a panel on MMOs on consoles and an Acer event in the evening.

Saturday, September 1st

Just Cause 4 Showcase: TheJewphin will be attending the Just Cause 4 panel and showcase, sharing his thoughts on the upcoming action/adventure title from Square Enix.SEGA & Localization Panel + Interview on Valkyria Chronicles 4: Mithrandiel will be attending SEGA's panel on bringing exciting titles from Japan to the states, with particular focus on the highly anticipated arrival of Valkyria Chronicles 4. Anthem Showcase: Want to see more from EA's Anthem? PAX West may just be the ticket! TheJewphin will share relevant news & updates on the game.DotEmu Showcase: After their exciting Streets of Rage 4 announcement, we're particularly interested in checking out what else DotEmu has to show off this year! Mithrandiel and TheJewphin will be tackling it together.Also on the agenda: Spotlight on Necrobarista, Pode, My Brother Rabbit, Metro Exodus and Leisure Suit Larry's triumphant (?) return

Sunday, September 2nd

Dauntless Spotlight: The co-op action RPG Dauntless is currently working through its beta stages, and we'll likely be seeing some important and exciting announcements about what's next for the game at PAX West.Indivisible Spotlight: The indie RPG from the creators of Skull Girls has got some seriously promising talent behind the wheel. Following Studio TRIGGER's announcement that they would be putting together the intro, my interest in the game has grown even more. I'm interested to see what they have to show us at PAX!Dying Light 2 Spotlight: Zombies, parkour, and gut-wrenching decisions that have lasting impact on your world and story development? Sign us up! We'll be taking a look at Dying Light 2 on Sunday!Rooster Teeth Games: TheJewphin will see what's up next for Rooster Teeth's games division.Also on the agenda: Spotlights on Breach, Boyfriend Dungeon, Never Give Up, Bloodroots, and Exception.In addition to everything you see above, keep your eyes open for impromptu interviews, indie game spotlights and demos, first impressions and much more!
