Shadow Tactics: Aiko's Choice [Overview/Mini Review]

Shadow Tactics: Aiko's Choice, developed by Mimimi Games and published by Daedalic Entertainment, is a stand-alone game in the Shadow Tactics series. Aiko's Choice is considerably shorter than the base game from which it was created, and the developers assume that players are already familiar with the game's playstyle and concept. The new stage design is excellent and more intuitive than that of the previous game. This is notably one of the best tactics/stealth games ever created, with excellent characters and an engaging story. The story features a beloved character on your team who was absent from the team in the previous game.

This expansion pack is pretty short, with only six missions to play. It takes place during the events of the previous game, after the eighth mission. Not much has changed compared to the main game. You'll control a crew of five heroes with totally different abilities. Shadow Tactics: Aiko's Choice is set in Japan during the Edo period, when samurai were a big deal. If you've played strategy games before, you'll get the hang of this one pretty quick. The focus on stealth makes this game stand out from other games like it. There are multiple options for taking over enemy bases, and you will encounter various locations, such as hidden forest camps and towns, during your missions. Traps and poison are integral components of a stealth game focused on a Ninja. Utilizing all the tools at your disposal will be crucial for success, although it is possible to avoid them entirely. Shadow Tactics: Aiko's Choice is an awesome game and a standout in its genre. It almost feels obvious to say that I can't recommend it to new players because this game is heavily reliant on its previous playerbase. However, after playing the previous Shadow Tactics game, players will be in for a treat. Shadow Tactics: Aiko's Choice is out now for Playstation, Xbox, and PC.
