Rooting for the Underdog: Loot Anime December Unboxing

By: MithrandielIt's that time once again - the Loot Anime box has landed on my doorstep, and I'm eager to dive in and showcase the treasures inside! Let's get started...First thing that catches my eye is not one, but two pieces of apparel! I'm a sucker for shirts, but this month they also tossed in a hat! Quick quick...what have we got?!Looks like a Black Clover t-shirt featuring Asta, now with 500% less screaming! I like the color of this shirt - a neutral tone that works well with everything. It's not the only thing you'll be sporting as you walk down the street, however...An awesome, golden hat! For those unfamiliar with the logo, this is a hat bearing the mark of Saint Seiya - an awesome anime series that has its roots in the mid 80s. It has seen a number of reboots lately, including polished OVA releases and a new series - so if Saint Seiya is one of your favorites, you'll be glad to add this to your collection! What else have we got...?Speaking of heroes, how about a Justice League comic? As you can probably tell from the cover, the style is a departure from the western design, similar to the recent Batman Ninja announcement that went viral.A fun romp alongside some of your favorite superheroes in an interesting style - not a bad addition to the box by a long shot. Though, I'm not sure if I'd call Batman an underdog. At least, not as much of an underdog as the star of this month's box. After much hype and anticipation, the cornerstone of this month's box is an exclusive My Hero Academia figurine of everyone's favorite hero-in-training: Izuku Midoriya (aka "Deku").After last month's Madoka figure, there was a pretty high bar to clear going forward, but I'm happy to say that the Izuku figure lived up to my newly elevated expectations. With great a solid weight and build, as well as some stellar detail work, Izuku is a great addition to any figurine collection. While I still think last month's figure was overall a better build (there was just a lot going on with that Madoka piece), if figures maintain this level of quality going forward, they make up for the majority of the value on their own.So, here it is! The "underdog" box of December from Loot Anime.
