Fire Emblem Heroes is a simplified version of Nintendo's long-running RPG franchise that caters to both hardcore fans and new players. After various complaints from mobile gamers about Nintendo's Super Mario Run, which was a paid app; the company decided to give the consumers what they wanted this time: a free app with micro-transactions through the game. Since most mobile apps work this way, it has been a more widely accepted decision.

If you want to experience the game totally free you will have to wait for your stamina to be recovered, which is needed to engage into the fights. If you have pocket money to spare and want to play without waiting you have the option to purchase orbs with real money. You can use them for various things trough the game such as recovering stamina or unlocking characters.

Now for long time fans of the franchise you will see many of your favorite characters return, but in order to play them you will have to either collect orbs by advancing in the game or using real money to buy them. There's a bit of story and the fights have been simplified in order to make fast-paced. If you are not familiar with the game you might not understand the patches of storyline included in the game, as it will be out of context. Instead, Fire Emblem Heroes relies on its simple and fun gameplay to reel in newcomers to the franchise.

Pros:

Simplified gameplay

Mobility

Engaging battles

Fire Emblem core essence is thtere.

You can pay to advance in the game.

Cons:

Requires context to understand the story.

You have to wait for the next round.

Requires real money.

Not much of a challenge.

Requires Internet connection.

Everything that makes the Fire Emblem Franchise is there, just simplified. It is a nice turn on what the hardcore fans are used to, and a fun and engaging way that new players can get a feel for what playing a Fire Emblem game is all about. So whatever your experience is with Fire Emblem, whether you're a hardened veteran or a fresh recruit, it is worth giving Fire Emblem Heroes a shot.
