Persona 5 the Animation Episode 8 [REVIEW]

By: ThunderheavyarmWell, that’s rather a mouthful for a title. In case I ever need to reference this title again I’ll be referring to this one as “The one with the madarame fight”.This episode focuses on the theft of madarame’s treasure. Unlike the previous palace we don’t have a preparation montage before hand so the show goes straight into it after the calling card is delivered. Through a little bit of ingenuity, the thieves steal the treasure out from under Madarame’s nose. Only to discover that a fake was used instead, with Madarame showing the group the true treasure, the original version of the Sayori. With Yusuke filled with more righteous anger and Madarame transformed the group fights to defend themselves and claim their treasure. So, another fight with a boss from the game comes and goes. It seemed to be slightly better than the previous one in that there seemed to be actual fighting. It’s hard to describe why, but it’s more than likely I’ve lowered my expectations for them. That said, there was a decent amount of character development, at least for Ryuji. Delving what happened to him with Kamoshida from the previous year. It’s better than nothing, and leads to Yusuke having some character development of his own, moving into the dorms so that he can interact with people. But it’s what’s in the main story of the game, and there’s more growth available in the side meetings. And that’s more of what I’m hoping for is for the side exploration. There’s 5 episodes left in the season, and with the first two palaces finished, there is just enough time for the third one with Makoto or for the side stuff. Still hoping for side stuff, until next time…GG, everyone!
