PAX East Spotlight: KeyWe

By Lowfat

KeyWe is a two-player co-op game that focuses on teamwork and communication. It’s a fun, light, occasionally frantic puzzle game for all ages. I had the pleasure of demoing two levels of the game and had a blast!

You and a friend (local or online) play a pair of kiwis in a postal office. In one stage, you are tasked with collecting scraps of letters. In another, you jump on various keys to spell out words. By piecing together messages, you can create messages to send via telegram. Half the appeal of KeyWe is the sheer joy brought by at your friends. “Get the word over there! Now jump on the keys with me!”

The second immediate appeal of this adorable game is great replayability thanks to the unlockable customizations for the birds. Each kiwi can sport a variety of colors, hats (including gamer headphones), and eyewear. There are plenty of buttons, levers, and bells to play with in each of the stages, but make no mistake, the cute little kiwis are the stars.

KeyWe is currently in development for PC, with eventual releases on PlayStation 4 Switch, and Xbox One.
