PAX East Spotlight - Hyperspace Delivery Service

Hyperspace Delivery Service is a space resource management game. Similar in concept to the Oregon trail, the player must lead a crew across the galaxy to deliver cargo. Resources such as food and fuel are consumed along the way, so the player will need to find new supplies as they progress.

During your travels random events can occur, such as encountering merchants that are willing to trade supplies. One event featured space pirates attacking my ship, which played out as a retro space shooter, similar to Wing Commander. Performance in these minigames can directly aid or hinder the crew.

In Hyperspace Delivery Service, your crew sit on the bridge of the ship.

In Hyperspace Delivery Service, crew members can die. Crew death means the player will not be able to benefit from that member's expertise. For example, lose your engineer, and you will have a harder time getting around that gravity well.

Developer Mike Pinto spoke to me about the game in a quick audio interview. Give it a listen, and then check the game out on Steam.
