Neo Harbor Rescue Squad [Review] [Second Opinion]
Neo Harbor Rescue Squad is a unique blend of the Trauma Center series and WarioWare. Each mini-game is a timed, fast-paced experience focused on treating wounds and saving lives. Initially, I would like to address the aspects that did not meet my expectations. Some micro-games are excessively brief, providing insufficient time to comprehend the objective and administer treatment. Furthermore, certain micro-games feel unresponsive, particularly those requiring stick rotation.
I encountered difficulties with the defibrillator, which may be attributed to a skill gap, although my experience with Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 suggests that I possess the necessary proficiency in stick rotation. Despite these issues, Neo Harbor Rescue Squad is a fantastic tribute to both WarioWare and Trauma Center. The narrative is somewhat weak and would benefit from voice acting. Fortunately, this does not detract from the engaging gameplay. The game's duration is approximately 7-8 hours, making it well worth the $19.99 price point. Additionally, it is an excellent choice for handheld play, and I conducted my review primarily on the PlayStation Portal. Notably, Neo Harbor Rescue Squad is absent from Nintendo Switch. The game is currently only accessible on PlayStation and PC. Considering the game's evident inspirations from well-known titles, the intended audience is apparent. It is remarkable that the developers failed to cater to this audience. The PlayStation audience generally does not gravitate towards games of this type.
