SPOILERS AHEAD!

The heroes work to pick up the pieces after All Might vanquishes All for One. All Might has to chart a path forward post retirement, U.A. has to make changes after the setbacks they’ve suffered, and the world at large has to reckon with no longer having a Symbol of Peace. All of these matters lead to some emotional moments. All Might has given everything he’s got in his epic fight with All for One, and everyone knows it. There are a range of differing emotions, some are expected while others aren’t. The surprise of these reactions is from Endeavor. He’s worked his entire life to become the number one hero, which is a title he wins by default with All Might’s retirement. Although it’s obvious that he isn’t happy about how it all goes down. It adds a welcome layer of depth to him, and for the first time makes him a sympathetic character. The feels don’t stop there, though. Deku and All Might have a meeting after everything settles down, and All Might makes the transition from a mentor to a father figure. Up to this point his sole objective is making sure Deku is ready to be a pro hero. However, their relationship and bond is beyond that point. With All Might promising to raise him from here on out. Have some Kleenex on standby. As All Might and Eraser Head make home visits to convince parents to go along with U.A.’s new plan, we get a chance to see Bakugo’s family. While it’s entertaining to see him interact with his parents, it’s most interesting to see his personal growth. He asks All Might what the deal is between him and Deku but, accepts the answer he’s given even though he knows there’s more. It’s a change of pace from his usual reaction and shows the increase in his maturity.Surprisingly the biggest stumbling block during these visits is Deku’s Mom. She is always doing her best to support him during his quest to become a hero. However, she can no longer watch her son take a beating. She wants it to stop. This immediately segues into All Might coming to the realization that Deku is charting his own path. That his choice back in season 1 in passing his quirk to Deku was the right move all along. There’s a lot going on in this one scene.Episode 50 of My Hero Academia is full of heart tugging moments, and each one of them brings something to the table. The next episode looks to be all fun, though, with the students adjusting to U.A.’s new system.
