My Hero Academia - Episode 49 (Review)

By: AlanVThe battle between All Might and All for One rages on. As the encounter continues to escalate in its scale, a lot of truths are revealed about characters that are definitely a surprise. All while the citizens of this world watch on as their "Symbol Of Peace" appears to be crumbling before their very eyes. Yet, despite the high stakes, All Might soldiers on.As the fight progresses it keeps on getting bigger and bigger. Every punch that both of them land create massive shockwaves that seemingly reverberate for miles, pushing away anyone else in the vicinity. By the end of it all they destroy a good chunk of the city, and both combatants are worse for wear.The curtain is peeled back, and some surprising information is revealed by All for One. It’s designed to throw off All Might, and it’s certainly successful. Here’s where All for One shows how he’s on a completely different level from the rest of the villains. He’s able to attack All Might both physically and psychologically. His abilities certainly match his imposing façade.These moments also serve to show how far ahead All Might is from everyone else. He’s the only one who has a chance against a villain as strong as All for One. Even Endeavor remarks about how he could never get close to touching All Might despite his bluster. This was almost as shocking as the secrets revealed by All for One, as Endeavor isn’t exactly known for being humble. It solidifies All Might’s position at the top spot of the hero rankings.Seeing All Might in such bad shape is tough. However, My Hero Academia finds yet another way to be beautiful. As he’s in the midst of this epic battle that obviously only he can win, the other heroes swoop in to lend a hand. They know they can’t do much in that situation but, they are resolute in doing whatever they can to help out All Might. Awesome.The end of the fight is thoroughly satisfying. It’s obvious that All Might needed to push himself to the absolute max, and it takes its toll. His time to be a hero that everyone can count on is coming to a close, and it couldn’t happen in a more grandiose way. It’ll be interesting to see how he’ll adjust to watching from the sidelines, as he watches Deku grow into the next symbol of peace.
