My Hero Academia - Episode 46 (Review)

By: AlanVEveryone at U.A. continues to work hard to pick up the pieces after the traumatic events that transpired during their training camp. Deku and some of his classmates feel like the only thing they can do is go in and rescue Bakugo from his captors. Of course, not everyone is on board with this plan. This tug-of-war over that they should do leads to some seriously tense moments. We see Iida acting in a way that didn’t seem possible before, using some physical force to get his point across to Deku. However, Deku and those who want to go forward with their plan are able to push forward with Iida tagging along as a chaperone of sorts. The most enjoyable moments of the episode come during this excursion. The kids know that they need to be stealthy for them to be successful, as the villains already know what they look like. Their idea involves them getting some wild new outfits, and personalities to go along with them. Every single one of them is laughter inducing, and an amazing way to hit the pause button on the tension. The students aren’t the only ones who have their minds on saving Bakugo. Some of the best heroes descend on U.A. High school to meet with the staff there and see what they can do to fix this rotten situation. There are copious amounts of hype in seeing so many powerful heroes come together in a way we haven’t seen before. Even Endeavor, who doesn’t seem like the most helpful type is called in.As all of this happening we continue to get glimpses of the villains as they try and convince Bakugo to join them. They proclaim that all they want is a more “fair” world where heroes aren’t in it simply for the money. That they really aren’t as evil as society makes them out to be. They even decide to free him from his restraints to show him how benevolent they are. Big mistake. The showdown between Bakugo and the villains is where the episode ends. It’s a crazy cliffhanger as Bakugo is very much aware of how precarious his situation is, with him sweating quite a bit. It’s an open question as to whether or not any of the rescue parties will make it in time to get him out of there safely.
