My Hero Academia - Episode 41 (Review)

By: AlanVThe students’ training camp continues to push them to their limits, with both class A and B working on strengthening their quirks. There is also more of a focus on the little boy that was introduced in the previous episode, Kota. What makes things more interesting is that the league of villains dispatched a formidable group of fighters.After some intense training the students end up having to make their own food. It’s not so they can become more independent, it’s so that they’re prepared when disaster strikes. The people they will work hard to protect need more than a shining beacon of hope, they also need to have basic needs like food met. So it’s important for the would-be heroes to know how to use their quirks for more than just beating up villains.These moments where they’re all together and cooking provide a nice moment of respite from them just training. It lets the characters have deeper conversations in these quieter segments, and they’re very enjoyable.The more emotional parts of the episode revolve around Kota. Deku is trying his best to break down the barrier Kota has created for himself. However, it looks as if all it’s doing is making Kota more resentful. This is something Todoroki mentions to Deku when they’re discussing the situation.As all of this is going on the league of villains is preparing their assault on the training camp. This time around they decide to bring in a few elite fighters rather than the rag tag group they used during their attack on U.A. High School. The main goal is to terrorize the students so that they think twice about their futures as heroes.It’s not all gloom and doom, though. There are some moments of levity during their training. The pro heroes in charge of the sessions are all full of energy and a blast on screen. This is especially true of Tiger, who is a brawny character who still manages to fit in perfectly within the Wild, Wild Pussycats.The episode ends with suspense, teasing the awesomeness that should be on the way. The villains begin to unleash their plan right before it cuts away, and it looks as if they cooked up something rather devious.
