Moving Out 2 [Review]

Hello! I see you are here to learn all about being a F.A.R.T.!*

*Furniture Arrangement Relocation Technician

Team 17 is at it again with another fantastic title: Moving Out 2! I hope you didn't miss leg day because you will feel the burn with heavy lifting, lots of throwing various articles of furniture, and random household items. “Don't worry we won't break anything”, as they say when you become a F.A.R.T.! “It’s not the condition of the items when they’re unpacked that’s important, it's that they made it to their new home at all!”

In Moving Out 2, players that have played the previous installment will very quickly take note of all of the changes to the game, such as locations and the amount of brainstorming you have to do to get from point A to point B. Sometimes someone or something has to hold open a door, or a puzzle will need to be solved so you can continue on the road to success. Sometimes things need to be moved into a new place, or put  in very specific spots, making it more challenging trying to fit an L shaped desk or couch through a door. During my Review, I had the luxury of playing the game with a full team of 4 on the Playstation 5 through local co-cp. A nice touch to the game is the inclusion of online co-op and cross-play, so no matter what system you have this game on, everyone is able to be the F.A.R.T.! they aspire to be.

A Star F.A.R.T.! If you can’t be yourself then be him! Look at that F.A.R.T.astic smile!

Moving Out 2 has a whole new cast of F.A.R.T.s, as I assume the previous cast has been retired. Moving Out 2 Features up to about 37 playable characters! Some are cute and others are, well, unique. A F.A.R.T.  is a F.A.R.T.! Everyone is lovable and hard working!

Any player who is experiencing this game alone can rest assured knowing this game has a very helpful assist mode, allowing more flexibility in the workforce. It also helps with inclusion for all players, so everyone can enjoy the game comfortably. This game is all inclusive and I can appreciate that.

This game is an absolute blast and one of the best party games I have played in years. It is certainly a huge step up from the first game in terms of content and replay ability. One gripe I have, is from what I can tell, you don’t get to see the extra objectives until you have already played the level.  This is a good reason to go back to the level again in the future. Personally, I like to do as much as I can in a single run. If I fail during the mission, I'd rather get the chance to 100% the mission from the beginning. It feels like a hassle to restart missions to complete a task that players aren't aware of until after completion. Showing players a list of tasks after completion, just makes extra tasks seem like an afterthought.

The character customization is a bit different than the first one. Instead of choosing a character and giving them different outfits, you just choose a character and have to unlock alternate colors for their outfits. But they are still accessibility friendly, and allow you to choose a wheelchair for your character. They have alternate typeface options in the menu for people with dyslexia as well.

I had a blast playing Moving Out 2 and I highly recommend this game to anyone that's a fan of Party games and a few honorable mentions. If you are a player that likes Overcooked, Out Of Space, or Tools Up, then Moving Out 2 is definitely a game that should be on your radar.
