Moon Knight Finds a Director

By Neonblue 28 October 2020

Hey Geeks, this is Neonblue, keeping you up to date with development of the comic book film Moon Knight. Rumors were rampant about who would headline or who would direct this fantastic property. I think at one time, Keanu Reeves was thrown in the ring to play the character.

Recently, Mohammed Diab has been tipped as the Director for the film adaptation. Personally, I was unfamiliar with Mr Diab's work but a quick search reveals he may be a fantastic candidate. His directorial debut of Cairo 678 won a slew of film festivals awards around the world but the one that has my attention was his 2007 Egyptian Action film "The Island". It centres around a Crime Lord who must violently control his Island from internal and external forces. Moon Knight is the avatar of the Egyptian Moon God Khonshu and it looks like Marvel has chosen a director who is very familiar with the Egyptian landscape and culture.

This is quickly following the recent news that Oscar Isaac will be donning the white costume. In my opinion...he's just a great choice. Big Fan. If you wanna catch up with Moon Knight before the movie release I would highly recommend  Moon Knight Volume 1 - From The Dead - by writer Warren Ellis. You can find these comics online at comixology.
