Katana Maidens ~ Toji No Miko - Episode 13 (Review)

By: ThunderheavyarmAfter a week off, since the previous episode was just an abridged rundown of the series, Katana Maidens returns. Of course the big question, now that the main villain is very dead what is there to fight? Why all of the aradama that’s created. As the story opens, a brief narration points out that the great Aradama evidently sent a large portion of itself into the sky and rained down. While it’s incredibly pretty, it has the nasty side effect of creating a lot of aradama and the area is under constant attack.Jumping ahead four months, the group is on various tasks or taking a break between assignments. The only problem with all of this is, someone is stealing Noro again. Which is a bit baffling given that it seemed all of five seven people knew about it and two of them are dead and one is a main character. So it really shouldn’t be this hard to figure out who would want to steal large quantities of magical demon goo. But the worse part of the show is how much filler it is again. Except it doesn’t really advance the plot, but instead acts like a stop sign (or if you read my last review the wall I talked about). So we’ve managed to go in an odd full circle, where the first episode last season had me confused but there was sword fighting. This time around, I’m just as confused about what’s happening but there’s even less sword fighting.I’m definitely coming into this show a bit jaded after the season finale two weeks ago, so I wasn’t expecting as much. But at the same time I know that when this show does find the groove it does a really good job of sucking you in. I’m just really hoping that it first happens next episode given the weak start. But second that when it happens it doesn’t use the groove to gain the speed it needs to slam into another hard wall.GG, everyone!
