HyperX Chargeplay Duo Review

By: Andros

The kind people at HyperX were generous enough to send us their Chargeplay Duo for the Xbox One. Similar to their previously released Chargeplay Duo for Playstation 4, this product is designed to charge two Xbox controllers at once.

First off, let's talk about what came in the packaging. This box contained 1 controller charging station, 2 rechargeable battery packs, 2 battery doors, an AC wall adapter, and a quick start guide. The dock itself has 2 charging status indicators so you can tell when the controllers are done charging. The battery packs in this package are 1400mAH for those who were wondering. This Chargeplay Duo is compatible with Xbox One wireless controllers and Xbox One Elite wireless controllers.

One of the things we were on the lookout for in this product was how long a charge from this dock would last with actual usage. It takes roughly 2 and a half hours to get a full charge from the battery being drained. the battery pack will also roughly last over 10 hours of playtime.

The one downside to this charging station is the battery backs are proprietary, meaning you have to use the backs they give you in order to charge the controllers with this dock. And a minor inconvenience of this being a dual charging port is that you have to have is facing sideways and not front to back like a single charging dock. Despite my personal gripes, I still highly recommend this for anyone with multiple controllers. This charging station is a great addition to my household and I really enjoy not having to get up every couple hours to replace some double A's.

You can buy this amazing Chargeplay Duo for only $29.99 at hyperxgaming or click the link here. Experience the new era of gaming with rechargeable batteries and not just one, but two charging docks for all your multiplayer fun!
