Hype Alert! Castlevania: Nocturne debuts Teaser Trailer - Internet Freaks Out

As if gamers haven’t eaten well enough this year, the critically acclaimed Netflix adaptation of Castlevania is making a return in two short months. Castlevania: Nocturne takes us far away from Trevor, Sypha and Alucard, instead focusing on another well-known Belmont protagonist: Richter.

Before I continue, I should make sure you watch the teaser first.

When the French aristocracy is under threat of destruction in the wake of the revolution, they turn to a “Vampire Messiah” to help quell the masses. This certainly won’t end poorly.

Pitted against these forces of evil is Richter Belmont, who continues the family tradition of fighting vampires and other supernatural beasts. While we haven’t met the full supporting cast just yet, we can see a fellow vampire hunter in the trailer, as well as a magic user. Samuel Deats has identified the pair as Annette and Tera.

While the previous 3 seasons were far from “chipper”, there is a noted melancholy in the trailer, which is complemented beautifully by the music. Topped off with the signature polish and awe-inspiring action sequences we’ve come to expect from the Castlevania franchise, this teaser has worked the fandom into a frenzy…

As longtime fans of the series, we remember the first preview being screened at Anime Expo, and are so delighted to have watched the series grow and become a benchmark for video game adaptations to strive for. With 8 episodes, Nocturne promises to give us a robust Castlevania experience, and introduce us to a promising cast of characters that I suspect we’ll see again…

I cannot wait for September 28th to hurry up and get here!
