Hit or Mith (3/17/16) - Sony makes a splash with VR, People look forward to Tyranny, and more!
Hey Geeks! Welcome to Hit or Mith, our weekly anime and video games news round up. Here's this week's highlight to keep your geeky appetite satisfied.Playstation VRSony announced this week that they are releasing a virtual reality unit, due for this October (2016), retail price of $399. Not bad, Sony! Not bad at all. Price point is agreeable for a virtual reality piece of technology. Especially since the other obvious contender in the market is the Occulus Rift, and it's retail price if $599. My only concern is if the Playstation VR has the ability to become a cornerstone to gaming community, or will it be classified as passing fad like the Playstation Move? Only time, and interested consumers, will tell. I Am SetsunaRPG gamers, it is time to rejoice! Square Enix has finally dubbed their shiney new RPG as, "I am Setsuna." (Big surprise there. The project was already entitled "Project Setsuna.") If you're a Chrono Trigger fan, you be pleased to hear that I am Setsuna has a battle system that resembles the classic game. If you're an RPG player who longs for the golden days of story telling, character development, and the love-hate relationship of the character level grind, youll be happy to know that Tokyo RPG Factory - I Am Setsuna game eveloper- aims to be bring back the foundations of the RPG genre to the latest gaming platforms. I Am Setsuna is scheduled to hit Playstation 4 and Steam Summer 2016. Check out some game footage, courtesy of Kaiju POP! The two companies brought us the RPG PC hit, Pillars of Eternity some time back- and now they're looking to hit gold again with their latest RPG escapade entitled Tyranny. Tyranny takes place in a world where evil has over come good, and the player takes control of an officer to Kyros the Overlord (the possible tyrant?!). The game is already giving off strong vibes that your decisions will be of consequence in this game, and each choice will lead your character down certain paths. Horay for choose your own path RPGs! The annoucement trailer to Tyranny is pretty intense![youtube id="aOino6nPFvE"]Video courtesy of Gamespot. Professor Layton's puzzle creator, Akira Tago, passes away.
