Halo Infinite Campaign Overview

Halo Infinite did a lot to improve its stock with gamers and critics with its successful multiplayer tech flights. However, the campaign has been MIA with 343 Industries keeping information on this aspect of the game under wraps after its less than stellar showing last year. All of this changed yesterday when it finally dropped an overview video of the campaign.

There are massive improvements over the first campaign reveal. The open world looks lovely, with lighting really making a big impact on the overall look. Character models got a nice boost in detail with Master Chief’s armor looking better than ever. The visuals look like something you’d expect to see from a nice PC or the Xbox Series X.

I’m still not sold on the story, though. I’ve never been a fan of the direction 343 has taken with regard to Cortana and her relationship with Master Chief. It still looks like they are leaning on this aspect, with a new AI entering the fray. It also looks as if the antagonist that debuted at last year’s reveal is still there, too, which might be another point of contention.

Overall, though, this is certainly a nice recovery for the campaign. It’s looking a lot better and the gameplay on display looks like a lot of fun. Check out the campaign overview yourself in the video below. Halo Infinite will release on December 8, 2021.
