Final Fantasy XV Delayed - Pushed to 11/29 Release Date (Press Release)

By: MithrandielAfter 24 hours of swirling rumors regarding the delay of Final Fantasy XV, director Hajime Tabata himself addressed the delay and offered his apologies to the fans. An official press release followed soon after (see below)Previously announced to be released on September 30th (to much fanfare I would add), Final Fantasy XV has been eagerly anticipated by the gaming community for the better part of a decade now. On that scale, another 2 months is largely acceptable.I like to note that I appreciate the way the delay has been handled thus far. Director Tabata seemed to be very sincere in his apologies and did his best to explain why the extra time was so important. Unlike recent projects that suffered multiple, extended delays *coughmightyno9cough*, Square Enix has gone through great lengths to make sure their fans understand why the delay is happening, while also not moving the goalposts too far. That being said, it would be naïve to think that the delay won't have a negative impression on a segment of their base.As always, we can hope that the extra time allows for a polished and near-perfect technical experience when the game does arrive on November 29th.You can view the official press release and director Tabata's video below.~~~TOKYO / LONDON / LOS ANGELES (Aug. 15, 2016) – To deliver the iconic FINAL FANTASY experience to audiences around the world, SQUARE ENIX® today announced that the global release date forFINAL FANTASY® XV will be November 29, 2016.This release date will allow the development teams time to further polish and conduct quality testing so that the reality of the game can match the expectations of both the fans and the creative teams.“From the moment we joined this project, our vision was to create a level of freedom and realism previously unseen in the series.
