Crunchyroll Expo’s Cosplay Craftsmanship

While Soma may often be a simple cosplay, @cupnoodledoodles went all out! He showed great attention to detail in the ruffle on his apron and accurate shoes and contacts. His customized wheeled cart with foam boards painted to look like wood and with the Yukihira logo was stocked with pocky, dumplings, meat, and octopus. The cherry on top had to be his genuine peanut butter and squid though! He had real dried squid that he dipped in peanut butter and served to con attendees. I wasn’t brave enough to try it myself, mind you.

Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba may be a relatively new series, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t result in some great cosplay. @ryuusea_ demonstrated that with her great Mitsuri Kanroji cosplay. Her cosplay was super accurate, including small details like the blue band on her socks and the pink ribbons on her geta. I was most impressed by her sword though! In the manga Mitsuri’s sword is flexible like a whip, and @ryuusea_’s choice of duct tape to produce that same flexibility while still durable enough to hold up to a convention was brilliant!

While I wasn’t able to catch this cosplayer’s name, since they were in a hurry, I wanted to include them anyway.  Their use of organza or tulle to make the smoke effect was great. And the glowing eyes defiadded to the overall eerieness.
