Beyond Galaxyland [Review]
Beyond Galaxyland is a fantasy turn-based RPG combining elements of Star Wars, Pokémon, dungeons, and dragons with a deeply emotional story and fantastic electronic music. Beyond Galaxyland has an astounding story that's compelling, but it abruptly stops before concluding, which is ridiculously frustrating. I understand if the developers have sequels in mind, but this isn't a movie. Video games should have some form of conclusion with an open-ended ending or conclusive ending that doesn't leave the players hollow just because you possibly want a sequel. It has engaging turn-based combat with a lot of character development and world-building.
This game flawlessly combines Star Wars with a further leaning into the fantasy genre than Star Wars' sci-fi fantasy. The story for Beyond Galaxyland Fantasy was engaging and very enjoyable, but it just ended without warning, so for me, it's disappointing. I am quite fond of the world-building and plot features incorporated into this JRPG. While it is a great game overall, I do think something is missing. The massive cliffhanger makes this game feel incomplete. The developers seemed to have left it up to the players to decide how the story ends. This isn't a book, and players aren't going to want to play money to imagine the story you should have given us.
