Antstream Arcade Platform
Arcade enthusiasts like myself are always finding ways to spruce up our home arcades. whether it's building a custom cabinet and slapping a PC into it or buying an Arcade 1up cabinet to try and relive the good ol' days. Players trying to play old-school arcade games and players that just want to relive some forgotten gems from the past need to look into Antstream. This is a subscription-based service that streams a huge catalog of Arcade classics. With the library of games documented at 1322 at the time of this writing and with new games added every week. Amazingly Not just arcade games are included. There are some* PS1, Nintendo 64, Snes, and more. This service streams these games right to your Xbox or PC. This program impressed me with how seamless and fast it was to get into a game. Games did not look like a compressed mess and more importantly, it did not feel like I was playing a streamed game. The library has games like 40 Winks for the PS1 and also Earthworm Jim for SNES and Master System.
A cool feature is when you find a game like Earthworm Jim for example. You can switch between each console version with the touch of a button. Antstream also offers online challenge quests for people who want to compete with scores and earn gems for their accounts. Also, Antstream features a populated tournament scene that is advertised on a banner at the top of the screen once you log in. Antstream also offers achievements for all of these overachievers out there. Achievements are a cool touch for the people who are looking for more out of their games and can scratch that Completionist itch. Antstream also has its own discord server for all subscribers to go to and chat and it has a message system built into the program which I'm assuming is for Xbox console players so they don't have to leave the app to message friends. Now unfortunately you won't have any Capcom games on this service but it does have a huge library of SNK games I'm sure this will be corrected in the future.
