Anime First Look - One Punch Man

In the fictional metropolis known as City Z, an unemployed businessman comes across a giant crab-man monster after a particularly bad day. Though he is initially spared, he comes to the aid of a rather ugly child, defeating the monster and re-kindling his childhood dream of becoming a superhero. Fast forward 3 years and Saitama has become the superhero he always hoped he would be. In fact, he may have become too powerful. Unfortunately, no matter how large or powerful his foe is, he is able to defeat them handily with a single punch, thus earning him the moniker "One Punch Man".The series originally began as a webcomic in 2009, and has since gained viral popularity. Even if you are unfamiliar with the source material, it's easy to see why it's been able to garner such a large following: it brilliantly balances humor with fast-paced action and a unique premise of a truly invulnerable hero. His primary adventures involve making new friends with other superheroes, as opposed to spending dozens of episodes focusing on training montages for the villain of the month, as many other action series are prone to do.Probably the last thing you'll ever see...After one particularly action-packed  scene in the first episode, I could only hope that Saitama eventually finds an opponent of worth, as the resulting animation would undoubtedly be some of the best of the season. Even in its current 2-episode span it has featured some exhilarating scenes, and even in its quiet moments is able to thoughtfully explore Saitama's character, and what it means to be so strong that battling evil has essentially become a boring hobby. I would also add that the opening theme song is probably one of the best of the season.Seriously, start watching this show today. Like Saitama, it only takes one episode to knock you out. You can watch One Punch Man at Daisuki
