The Ancient Magus’ Bride - Episode 15 (Review)

By: EyeSpyeAlex After ending on a serious cliffhanger, I was eager to watch this week’s episode of The Ancient Magus’ Bride. Need to catch up too? Check out my review of last week’s episode here!Suffering a serious magic overload, Chise’s organs have begun to rupture. In order to get her to safety quickly, Elias takes Chise into the Faerie kingdom. There, Chise is treated by a changeling named Shannon. Shannon manages to cure Chise’s wounds and give Chise her fighting spirit back. I guess attempting to drown someone will do that to you though. While Chise is learning that she can’t breathe underwater, Oberon and Titania are trying to convince Elias to stay in their realm. Titania tells Elias that he and Chise belong there and will thrive in their world. Elias disagrees, stating he still has much to learn from Chise and the human world. Once he finds Chise healed, the pair head back home, only to find the seasons have changed. As all of this is happening, we finally get some background on Silky. A banshee, Silky once haunted a family who all suddenly perished. With the help of one of the Faerie kingdom guards, Silky ends up at Elias’s house, where a family who still follow the old traditions lives. Giving her a wardrobe update, the guard then sends Silky on her way to that household, where she has resided ever since. Silky, who has grown fond of her new family, is delighted when they return home. This latest episode of The Ancient Magus’ Bride was beautiful as always, and finally seemed to figure out its pacing. The way this episode flowed felt organic, and like a natural transition of the plot. It was extremely enjoyable to watch and didn’t leave me feeling like there should have been more. Hopefully the show keeps up the good work!New episodes of The Ancient Magus’ Bride stream on Saturday’s on Crunchyroll and VRV platforms.
