I played ChainStaff at PAX West last year when I interviewed developer Nathan Fouts from Mommy’s Best Games at publisher Null Games’ booth. The demo is now available for everyone to play on Steam!
From the game’s Steam page:
ChainStaff is a brutal action-platformer with a transforming spear and grappling hook, blazing weapon upgrades, and a rocking soundtrack. Aliens have taken over the Earth! Swing, shoot, and spear your way through hordes of mutating monstrosities and bone-shaking boss fights.
ChainStaff has a great sense of humor and trippy, classic album cover-inspired graphics. It looks and sounds great. The game feels even better to play now than it did at PAX. Swinging around is smooth and satisfying, and throwing the ChainStaff into monsters is pure crunchy goodness. The first level and its boss fight are fantastic, and I can’t wait to play the rest of the game.
You owe it to yourself to try ChainStaff. Play the demo now, and wishlist the game on Steam.
